LEGO Worlds Has Taken Over Ours

At this year’s Sweet Suite event we saw tons of cool toys and games that we have already raved about but one particular section that caught our eye was the WB Games/LEGO video game booth that had both LEGO Worlds and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 on display.

While we CAN NOT WAIT to try out the new Marvel game, LEGO Worlds had slipped under our radar a little. We were aware and excited for it when it was first releasing back in March but with the end of the school year and a million other things going on, we simply never had a chance to try out the game. Thankfully the awesome team over at WB games sent us a copy to try on the PS4 and wow are we so glad they did!

As I’ve mentioned in the past here and on Social Media plenty, my 4 (soon to be 5) year old son LOVES all things LEGO. There are a few games he really grasps how to play and the LEGO games are some of his favorites. The simple gameplay mixed with fun storylines can keep him busy for hours but I was a little concerned that LEGO Worlds might be a bit too over his head as there is not just linear gameplay but actual world building going on.

I have to say I could not be happier that I was wrong as he has joyfully embraced the game and is fascinated building things all over the LEGO Worlds’ landscape. Moments before writing this I watched him building his own versions of bridges in the sky so he could avoid a volcano and he could not have been prouder with his accomplishment. Much like LEGOs themselves, the amount of imagination he was able to use and explore in this is exactly what I want to see in a game as a parent.

We still have a long way to go in LEGO Worlds but I just wanted to let you all know how perfect of a game it has been for us. with expansions on the way (well talk about that in the next post) I can definitely see LEGO Worlds being a staple in our home for a long time.

The game is currently on sale for $29.99 at most retailers and is available for PS4, XBOX One and PC so there is no better time to pick up a copy!

Sweet Suite 2017 Swag Unboxing

As we mentioned in our last post, Sweet Suite 2017 was so much fun and one of the best parts of all is that after the fun of the night ends, you receive this MASSIVE box of goodies sent to your home with samples from many of the companies that were on display. As you can imagine our two youngest went absolutely bonkers for everything inside and have picked out a handful of toys they want to “share” (or fight over) with each other while we will be sharing the rest by doing some fun giveaways and sharing with kids in need this holiday season.

You can check out our unboxing video below an let us know what you think the coolest thing we got in the box was!!

Sweet Suite 2017 Was Awesome!!!

Every year for the past several years we have had the privilege of covering the annual Blogger Bash NYC Sweet Suite event. It is an absolutely amazing night put on by the fantastic team over at The Toy Insider and it is the place to be to hear all about the newest toys kids will be going crazy for this holiday season.

My lovely wife @BlogSenorita and I spent the evening at Pier Sixty in NYC checking out all of the goodies and have so much to show you all. While we had a fantastic time as always we did especially love what Jakks Pacific is doing with their Nintendo products (Splatoon Ink shooters are sooooo fun) and how much fun Sonic Mania from Sega and Lego Marvel Heroes 2 from WB games looks.

New LEGO Dimensions Expansions Release Today!!

Now let me preface my post by saying in the past My kids and I have very graciously been sent some LEGO Dimensions products from WB Games and have posted some sponsored content but we did so while being incredibly thankful because we honestly LOVE everything about the game.

With that said we are extremely excited that today, November 18th, is finally the day when the newest wave of LEGO Dimension Expansion packs are releasing. There is nothing My boys and I have more fun playing with than LEGOs and LEGO Dimensions has been the absolute best way possible for me to introduce them to the world of video games. The game has allowed them to begin to understand the control schemes of modern gaming while still letting them use their creativity to build and play with LEGOs as well.

As a dad I have a blast building the characters, vehicles and sets as well as exploring the digital world with them and it has been so much fun watching them come to know so many different franchises because of it. The game literally packs in most of my childhood nostalgia with everything from Batman, Back to the future and ghostbusters and is adding even more with this current Wave of expansions.

Today’s big release includes:

  • A Sonic The Hedgehog Level Pack
  • A new Adventure Time Fun Pack (TRU Timed Exclusive)
  • A Gremlins Team Pack
  • An E.T. Fun Pack
  • A Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them Story Pack
  • and an additional Fantastic Beasts Fun Pack

I can not wait to try out these new packs with my little guys and definitely stay with us as we will have unboxing and reviews coming along as well!

You can check out the full press release and Sonic the Hedgehog level trailer below!

LEGO Dimensions Wants Us To Meet The Gremlins

As I’ve mentioned in past posts, my home is a big fan of the LEGO Dimensions video game. It combines my little ones (and my own)  love of LEGO building with all of the franchises we know and love. We’ve been having fun with the game and different add on packs since we first started playing in 2015 and are still going strong with the new additions this year including the Ghostbusters 2016 pack and A Team pack that we received (graciously from LEGO) recently.

One of the new additions we are incredibly excited for is the upcoming release of characters from the original Gremlins film which will add Gizmo and Stripe to the game. As I’ve introduced my 4yr old to the Gremlins films recently he is beyond excited to be able to play with these characters in his favorite video game.

Knowing many of us are excited for this addition, LEGO has released a third episode in their “Meet That Hero” series which features some of the Gremlins gameplay being introduced to us by Marceline the Vampire Queen from Adventure Time. You can check out the video below as well as the first two entries in the series & you can pick up the LEGO Dimensions Gremlins Team Pack when it hits stores this November!

Little Larry Unboxing LEGO Dimensions and More

Recently we were talking with the awesome people over at WBGames and let them know how much Little Larry enjoyed playing LEGO Dimensions and they graciously sent over some brand new sets for us to check out.

If you have never played LEGO Dimensions before, it is a “Toys to life” style game where LEGO figures from tons of different universes come together in an amazing video game adventure. There is literally something for everyone in these games with sets that include Batman, The Simpsons, The Wizard of Oz, Mission Impossible, Harry Potter, Ghostbusters, Doctor Who and so on. There are honestly too many different cool franchises to list.

The most fun aspect for us as a family is that we get to build the LEGO characters and sets together as were playing the video game so it combine classic lego brick building with all of the technology of today’s video games. I cant recommend picking up the game and packs enough and despite having received these new sets from WBGames we have been buying LEGO Dimensions on our own since they first release and absolutely love everything about it. You can check out Larry unboxing the new sets below (as well as some cool Hexbug and Funko products) and well be updating soon with some video of Gameplay etc.

BATMAN: The Telltale Series Is Here!

As a dad and lifelong gamer I share that passion with my kids and while Telltale games are usually a little too mature for the younger ones, their releases are fantastic pieces of art for older teens and adults who want to kick back and enjoy episodic versions of some of their favorite franchises (including Walking Dead and Game of Thrones). Yesterday though, they topped all of that with the release of BATMAN – The Telltale Series Episode One: Realm of Shadows.  I can not wait to play this game. It is BATMAN arguably my favorite superhero present in an awesome comic art style and served in tasty individual episodes that completely work with my hectic schedule. I will definitely be talking more about the game in the future as I get to play and you can check out all of the official details below from Telltale.
